Policies & Terms of Participation

1. Registration & Enrolment
All students must complete an enrolment form prior to attending lessons.
Enrolment is confirmed once payment has been received in full.
Class placement is determined by the student’s age, ability, and skill level.
Ripples Swim School reserves the right to reassess and reassign students to a more suitable class to ensure safety, progression, and optimal learning outcomes.
2. Payments
All swimming lesson fees must be paid by the due date listed on the statement emailed to families following re-enrolment week.
It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure sufficient funds are available for payments made via the online payment system.
Ripples Swim School incurs a processing fee for unsuccessful payment attempts.
A $0.50 failed payment fee will be passed on to the customer for each unsuccessful payment attempt.
Outstanding balances may result in enrolment suspension.
3. Late Payments & Enrolment Suspension
Students with outstanding fees are not permitted to attend lessons.
Ripples Swim School reserves the right to reallocate lesson places if payment is not received within a reasonable timeframe.
Reinstatement of enrolment is subject to availability once payment has been finalised.
4. Class Attendance & Make-Up Lessons
Students are expected to attend all scheduled lessons.
If a student is unable to attend a lesson, parents/guardians must notify Ripples Swim School as soon as possible.
Make-up lessons or refunds are only offered when a lesson is cancelled by Ripples Swim School, including:
Staff illness
Pool or facility malfunction
No make-up lessons, refunds, or credits will be provided for lessons missed due to students personal circumstances, including but not limited to holidays, illness, school events, family commitments, or forgotten bookings.
By enrolling, families acknowledge that missed lessons due to personal circumstances are not eligible for make-ups, credits, or refunds.
5. Cancellations & Refunds
Once a term has commenced, fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Refunds or make-up lessons will only be considered where a lesson is cancelled by Ripples Swim School due to staff illness or pool/facility malfunction.
Missed lessons for any reason outside of Ripples Swim School’s control are not eligible for refunds, credits, or make-ups.
6. Health & Safety
Students must be in good health to participate in swimming lessons.
Parents/guardians must disclose any medical conditions, allergies, disabilities, or additional needs at enrolment and advise of any changes.
Medical clearance or waivers may be required for certain conditions.
Children who are unwell or displaying symptoms of illness (including fever, vomiting, diarrhoea, or contagious rashes) must not attend lessons.
Appropriate swimwear must be worn at all times. Non-swim clothing is not permitted in the pool.
To reduce the risk of discomfort or illness, children should avoid eating for at least 30 minutes before their lesson.
7. Behaviour & Conduct
Respectful and safe behaviour is expected from all students, parents/guardians, and staff.
Disruptive, unsafe, or aggressive behaviour may result in removal from the lesson and or premises.
Continued behavioural issues may result in suspension or cancellation of enrolment.
Students should arrive at least 5 minutes prior to their scheduled lesson.
8. Parent / Guardian Responsibilities
Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising their child before and after a lesson time, including during drop-off and pick-up. This includes siblings or other children not participating in lessons. Parents/guardians need to ensure that they are supervised at all times.
Parents may observe lessons from designated viewing areas only - behind the pool fence.
To maintain a safe learning environment, distractions on the pool deck should be avoided.
9. Equipment
Equipment provided by Ripples Swim School (including kickboards and flotation devices) must be used appropriately and as directed by instructors.
Personal equipment may only be used with instructor approval.
10. Photography & Media
Photography and video recording during lessons is permitted only with prior approval from Ripples Swim School.
Parents may take photos or videos of their own child for personal use only.
Ripples Swim School may use images or videos of students for promotional or educational purposes unless written opt-out consent is provided.

11. Weather, Closures & Facility Issues
Ripples Swim School operates a fully indoor swimming facility.
Lessons run rain, hail, or shine and will not be cancelled due to weather conditions
Lessons will only be cancelled in the event of:
Pool or facility malfunction
Unforeseen safety concerns
Circumstances beyond reasonable control that impact safe operation
Families will be notified as soon as practicable should a lesson need to be cancelled for the above reasons - this will come via a text message, so please ensure contact details are kept up to date - this is the parent or guardians responsibility to do so.
12. Liability & Waivers
All students and parents/guardians must complete their enrolment form prior to their first lesson with Ripples Swim School.
Ripples Swim School is not responsible for injury, loss, or damage to personal belongings while on the premises or during lessons.
Participation in swimming lessons is undertaken at the participant’s own risk.
13. Policy Updates
Ripples Swim School reserves the right to update or amend policies at any time.
Updated policies will be communicated via the SimplySwim Portal, email and/or published on our website.
